Birthday Squared

Welcome back for you guessed it! Another birthday card in celebration of my birthday week! Yay!

This was actually created for a sketch swap on a yahoo group I belong to. I posted a Christmas version a week or so ago and decided I needed a birthday one too because I like the sketch so much. At first I had a hard time deciding what paper to use but then I remember a post I saw the other day over at Anne Maries blog. She made a beautiful Christmas card with some DSP she had hoarded from last year so I decided to use up some old paper for this quick and simple card!

Thanks for inspiring me Anne! It's definitely time for me to stop being such a paper hoarder otherwise everything I have is going to be old and retired!

MM#2 Birthday Upgrade!

As promised, here is my birthday card for today! It's actually my card from the MM#2 sketch at GAB Challenges with an extra addition! I decided it simply needed a little more! It's so amazing how something so small can change the entire look of a card! I've posted the orginal first and the upgrade below!

THEY'RE HERE!

GUESS WHAT?!

The Watercolor Wonder Crayons are now available for purchase. The new Watercolor Wonder Crayons were delayed due to a major relocation of our supplier. We now have inventory and you can start ordering today!

There is a New Color Kit (#120949, $39.95) you can order if you already have the old Watercolor Wonder Crayon sets. This kit includes 4 new trays, 4 inserts, and 4 tins as well as the 17 new and previously unavailable color crayons: Cajun Craze, Cherry Cobbler, Crumb Cake, Daffodil Delight, Early Espresso, Marina Mist, Baja Breeze, Pacific Point, Pink Pirouette, Riding Hood Red, Tangerine Tango, Wild Wasabi, River Rock, Rich Razzleberry, Soft Suede, Melon Mambo, Basic Gray.

If ordering complete sets (rather than just the new Color Kit), some of the color sleeves might feature old artwork on them. This does not affect the quality of the crayons; we simply need to deplete inventory of crayons with the old artwork before we use crayons featuring the new artwork. Here is the ordering information for the new Watercolor Wonder Crayon sets:

Subtles (#119802, $16.95)
Regals (#119803, $16.95)
Brights (#119804, $16.95)
Neutrals (#119805, $16.95)

Thanks for your patience!

If you prefer to place your order directly through me instead of online or have questions please leave me a comment with a way to contact you!

Hey everyone!

It's another Manic Monday sketch challenge! Go check it out at GAB Challenges! Here's one of my creations for the challenge!

Birthday Bliss

Yay!!

That's right! It's my birthday week! I'll be 24 on Thursday! I actually remembered my age! Ha! I'll explain that one in a later post for those of you who are wondering...

Anyhow, in honor of my birthday I'm going to be posting at least one birthday card everyday this week! For some reason I find birthday cards to be challenging. I'm not sure why. I have tons of older SU! birthday sets but I'm not too crazy about many of the new ones... That may be my problem!

Anyhow here is my post for today! I'll try to get info up soon!

As always thank you for coming by and checking out my blog! Don't forget tomorrow is Manic Monday at GAB Challenges so be sure to stop by for a new sketch challenge!

Christmas Blog Hop - Mr. & Mrs. Clause Owl Tutorial

Hey everyone!

Welcome to the Christmas Card Blog Hop! If you've come from visiting Jamie, you're in the right place. If you were just looking at my blog and want to play along with our blog hopping fun, you can go to the beginning at Crafty Card Gallery. This blog hop is intended to get you in the Christmas Spirit.... If you haven’t already started/finished your Christmas cards, hopefully this will inspire you to come up with an idea... and maybe you can win some blog candy or get ideas for great Christmas gifts (whether they’re on your list or for someone else!). So if you aren’t braving the malls and can get some computer time, come join us for some fun!

Some of you may have seen my Mr. & Mrs. Clause Owl card I posted yesterday for the Finally Friday Sparkle challenge at GAB (Gimme A Break) Challenges. I decided to give everyone a tutorial as it was requested. These were really easy cards to make and I had so much fun puting them together!

Mr. & Mrs. Clause Owls

You will need:
Jolly Old St Nick Stamp Set $17.95 #121321
Clear Block E $11.95 #118484
Two Step Owl Punch $16.95 #118074
Basic Black $6.95 #121045
Whisper White CS $8.50 #100730
Soft Suede CS $6.95 #115318
Crumb Cake CS $6.95 #120953
Chunky Essentials Stampin Glitter $15.95 #108797
Early Esspresso Classic Ink Pad $5.95 #119670
Real Red Marker $3.50 #100052
2-Way Glue Pen $3.50 #100425

1. Punch the two-step owl in both crumb cake and soft suede.

2. Punch the medium circles only in whisper white for the eyes.

3. Punch the smallest circles in black cardstock.

4. Piece together your owls using the 2-way glue.

5. Set your owls aside. You now need Jolly Old St. Nick,
Block E, Early Espresso Ink, Whisper White CS.

6. To save paper, ink up the Santa face stamp and only stamp
the top portion twice as you only need the hats.
7. Color one Santa hat with Real Red.
8. Color the second hat as shown above.

9. Cut out your Santa hats as show above.

10. Now you will need to trim your hats down as shown
so they'll fit on your owls heads properly.

11. Using your 2-way glue start with the white on the hats and cover them
with chunky silver glitter. Repeat this with the red on the hats using chunky red glitter.

12. Your owls and hats should look as seen above.
Now all you have to do is put it on your card!

I'm Thankful For...

the love of my life. He has given me the most precious things in the world, his endless love, support, and my boys. I don't know where I would be without my family.

Cullen and I met before we were even able to drive! We were 14 years old when my Dad drove 15 minutes to pick him up and take us to the movies for our first date. = ) It's hard to believe we have known each other for 10 years, going on 11 now. We haven't been together that long but had remained friends the entire time. He has always been there for me through the good times and the bad as I have been for him. Cullen is the most amazing person I've ever met! It wasn't until almost 3 years ago, on Valentine's day that we both grew up enough to realize we had something that was real. We have had our rough patches like any relationship does. Cullen has blessed me with something that I will wear proudly for the rest of my life. Motherhood. Being young parents has definitely proven to be challenging at times but our love for one another and our children is what keeps us holding strong. I am so thankful to have such an amazing person as my best friend, father to my children and love of my life!

Here is the card that I've made for Cullen for Thanksgiving!

Stamps: French Foliage, Because I Care
Paper: Soft Suede, Very Vanilla, Tempting Turquoise
Ink: Crumb Cake, Soft Suede
Accessories: Modern Label Punch, Soft Suede Polka Dot Ribbon

Whoo! Whoo! Whoo's you Valentine?

HAHA! I'm so corny sometimes! I put this together a couple weeks ago when I had some free time. I really like the idea but I'm not too crazy about my choice of colors. Anyhow, I just wanted to share. This is using a nugget tin. I bought them through Specialty Bottle as they're quite a bit cheaper there than PaperTrey Ink. I intended to use them as little Christmas gifts but I just don't see it happening so I came up with this instead!

Stamps: Whoo's Your Valentine
Paper: Whisper White, Only Orange, ... Red? LOL
Ink: Early Espresso, Soft Suede, Crumb Cake, Rose Red,
Blushing Bride, Pumpkin Pie
Accessories: Stickles Polka Dot Emboss, Heart Emboss

This is a set of 12 3x3 cards and envelopes. You could probably get a couple more in the tins if you wanted more than 12. If you make your childrens Valentine cards you could make a variety of cards and this would be a cute way to give them to them. I remember when I was a child I always looked forward to picking out my Valentines and opening the box was exciting to see the different cards! Maybe I was just weird... LOL

Mmm Mmm Good!

This is by far one of my family's favorite easy casserole dish's! It's abosolutely delicious! I was using up some scraps I had laying around for these cars so I honestly don't know what colors I used. I pulled them out of my old retired colors that have been sitting around too long for me to remember! LOL

Enjoy!
