To My Wonderful Followers...

I'm here to apologize for being absent the last couple of days... Unfortunately after an interesting Dr's visit on Tuesday I was unable to get much done and Wednesday brought us some unexpected car issues that took all day to figure out...

I am only 18 days away from my bringing my second son into the world! I have been dealing with some bad back pain and contractions 10 minutes apart, which any moms out there know that if you go to the hospital and they're not a consistent 5 minutes apart they will send you back home... so basically my Dr told me on Tuesday that Im on bed rest and they're going to induce me on Oct. 10th if he isn't here yet! First off, this is NOT possible for me when I have a 15 month old son! LOL BUT, I did get quite a bit of rest on Tuesday as Caiden was being very well behaved and my contractions were driving me nuts SO it was a no stamp Tuesday...

Now today, we got ready to take my wonderful boyfriend to work (who was running about 20 minutes late) and the darn car was not wanting to start! It finally started after about 5 minutes but once it was turned off it wasn't starting again... SO I had to consult with my mechanic (AKA Dad) LOL to see what I needed to do. After driving 30 minutes in traffic to my parents house and spending an hour at Auto Zone we managed to make it back and replace the battery cables allowing my car to function properly again! YAY! By this time it was about 7:30pm and had to drive 30 minutes to pick up boyfriend at 9pm then finally made it home!

ANYWAYS... Just had to share my lovely midweek adventures with you all and let you know I will be posting the following between now and Sunday!!! YAY

  • Halloween Recipe Swap Cards (very little SU, but sooo fun!)
  • Revised Fang-Tastic Halloween Card
  • Birthday Cards (hopefully at least a few)
  • 3D project... (still a mystery at this point)

SU Stars 1st Blog Hop & BLOG CANDY!!

Welcome to my very first ever Blog Hop!

If you have been hopping along, you should have arrived from Shari's site, Shari's Stamp Pad. If not, you can start at the beginning here.

I wanted to do a fun project for my hop spot and with Halloween being the theme what better project to feature than something involving CANDY!? I have made three different sized nugget boxes to share with you all today! (Individual pictures of each & measurements further down)

Aren't they cute?! They were soo FUN to make!

The Spooky Box is a 1x6 nugget box.

Stamps: Wicked Cool
Ink: Basic Black, Rich Razzleberry, Old Olive
Paper: Pumpkin Pie, Rich Razzleberry, Basic Black, Whisper White
Accessories: Small & Large Rhinestones, Dimensionals, Decorative Label Punch 1/8' Black Taffeta Ribbon, Sticky Strip

The Paisley Pumpkin Box is a 2x4 nugget box.

Stamps: Paisley Prints, Everyday Flexible Phrases
Ink: Peach Parfait, Rich Razzleberry, Old Olive
Markers: Cajun Craze, Pumpkin Pie, Peach Parfait, Soft Suede, Old Olive
Paper: Peach Parfait, Pear Pizazz, Crumb Cake, Soft Suede
Accessories: Decorative Label Punch, Curly Label Punch, Adhesive Leaves, Sticky Strip, 1/4' Old Olive Grossgrain, Dimensionals

The Witch Box is a 3x3 nugget box.

Stamps: Fang-Tastic
Ink: Basic Black, Pear Pizazz, Whisper White
Markers: Concord Crush, Pear Pizazz, Peach Parfait
Paper: Whisper White, Pear Pizazz, Concord Crush, Peach Parfait, Basic Black
Accessories: Spider Web Embossing Folder, Dimensionals, Curly Label Punch, Sticky Strip

You can use Avery 5160 labels to wrap around your nuggets after decorating or cut your strips at 1x 3 1/4. I chose to cut mine out of cardstock as the labels are a little smaller in width giving you less decorating room. Be sure to use the sticky strip to adhere your cardstock to the nuggets as the cardstock is also heavier than the labels!

Now, as many of you are probably wondering, here is how you can qualify for the following

It Starts with a MIX!

These are a couple of recipe cards I made for a recipe swap on SCS for altered cake mix recipes or altered mixes in general! I'm pretty excited, someone has a recipe for a Taco Casserole with Bisquick mix! I hope I get one of those! I know these are made with next to no SU! products but I had to share cause I LOVE the way they turned out! This was also the first two recipe cards I've ever made! It was sooo much fun! If you've never made any before you should give it a try!

Peanut Butter Brownie Cookies

Cherry Chocolate-Chip Cake

Midnight Musings...

I'm going to share this card front that I made for an SU Stars swap I hosted although I'm not super crazy about it... I'm not sure what it is but I think something is missing and I looked at it everyday for a week straight trying to figure out what else to do to it... I think maybe it needs some of the Raven Lace Ribbon... which of course I haven't ordered yet! LOL

Ink: Basic Black, Old Olive, Whisper White
Paper: Whisper White, Old Olive, Tangerine Tango, Basic Black

What Can't You Pass Up From the Holiday Mini?!

I don't think I would be able to live without SEVERAL things in the new mini catalog but my absolute FAVORITE thing in the catty is the Spider Web embossing folder! I haven't ordered the Northern Flurry embossing folder for Christmas yet, but I think that's a MUST HAVE too!!

Here are some cards I received in a Holiday Mini Swap I recently hosted through the SU STARS yahoo group of SU! demos. I made a few sets of cards for this swap so I would have multiples of everyones cards to share with friends and family and I'm going to give a set away here to one lucky person! (U.S. only please)

If you would like to have your own set of these 7 cards please leave a comment with your favorite item from the Holiday Mini! I will select a winner at random on Monday September 20th so be sure to comment soon!
